Yes you can. 100kph winds are no problem.
On those very gusty and windy days, Ziptrak Blinds should be either fully down and locked, or fully retracted (up). And during extreme weather events, the blinds should be fully retracted for maximum protection.
For most days though, you can enjoy your blinds as usual in any position you choose.

Every location is different with various factors that affect installation times. For example, fitting Ziptrak blinds to timber or steel is quicker than fitting them to brick. However, the following times will give you an idea.
A single blind takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, including time needed for preparation and cleaning up after the work is done.
If three blinds are done in one session then it could be approximately 3 to 4 hours all up. Five blinds could take 5 to 6 hours depending the area in which the blinds are being fitted.
For most residential and small commercial blind installations, everything will be completed and cleaned up in one day.
Wood, steel, brick and concrete etc. And if necessary, we can install posts for the blinds to be fitted to if the material isn’t suitable. For example, plasterboard isn’t suitable unless there’s a solid beam present so would install a beam to fix to. Basically the blinds can be fitted most anywhere.
PVC Plastic is 5 metres.
Shade Mesh is 6 metres.
If your area is wider than these dimensions, then we would install posts to fit the next blind and so on. For example, if you have a 8 metre wide area, we would install a central post in the middle and two 4 metre blinds on each side.
You can also choose removable posts for those times when you’re not using the blinds and really want to open the whole space up again. How good is that!
Find out more... How wide can outdoor blinds be?
The short answer is as follows...
Shade mesh outdoor blinds are best for north or west facing areas that get a lot of sun when it's hottest from midday to late afternoon. This shade mesh material provides shade from the sun, and protection from wind and rain.
PVC plastic outdoor blinds are best for south and east facing areas, or any well-shaded areas, that don't bake in the midday and afternoon sun. PVC plastic material lets in the light while providing protection from wind and rain.

No electrician is needed if there is a power point close by. There’s also a solar powered option if your area is suitably sunny.
The mesh blinds can be cleaned with a soft brush broom, a hose down or soapy water and cloth. The mesh blinds don’t really need to cleaned all that often as they are constantly being moved up and down which shakes the dust off them.
The PVC blinds are different and should be cleaned with a recommended cleaning agent. Talk to us.
Yes they can but it’s not so common. An example of this is an outdoor patio with skylights that get very hot in summer so Ziptrak blinds are used over the skylights in summer but drawn back in winter.
Yes, they can be locked in the down position which is particularly good on windy days. This lock should not be seen as any measure of security though. Also, they should not be used as a barrier for babies or toddlers. As Ziptrak blinds are so easy to use even the little ones will work it out sooner or later.
